I am Happy that I am in India and not in my neighbouring country

Yesterday Pakistan’s former PM Benazir Bhutto was assassinated.News said that she was shot in the face and chest and then the suicide bomber blew the place up.

benazir.jpg

Even if my country is not ran by ideal people, even if my country is not perfect.I am happy that my country is stable, achieving a great economic growth. My country didn’t face any Emergency, there was no military coup, there is no terrorist attack back to back in succession.

My country may not be perfect but I am so happy to belong to my country. And there is a line from Rang De Basanti “Koi desh perfect nahi hota,Usse perfect banana padtha hain”

I am supposed to say all these .After all I am a guy who only because of his love to the nation and armed forces wrote the National Defence Academy( NDA) entrance exam inspite of his mother’s constant opposition, but couldn’t get through may be because of my mother’s prayers.

I am proud of my Nation..

  1. oh really brother…it was shocking news…smething like an assurance of ‘no more hopes’…
i never thought…this is as easy as it seems it have been…especially after that failed assassination attempt on her a few weeks ago…

And i don’t think dat we can really be happy, just because we are on a different nation…
death of benazir, fate of pak…everything will definitely affect india in ‘who knows how’ ways…

And true, a dictatorship seems impropable in india, but we definitely are not at a state to be able to laugh at the poor condition of Pak.

and hats off to your patriotism…have heard of it….

  2. @arjun….i am no way laughing at the poor fate of pakistan but actually i am releived on how lucky i am not to be in there…..ya obviously internal affairs of pakistan will definitely affect India…its a common thing that whenever shit happens there, the rulers there will try to deviate everyone’s mind by doing something weird…

  3. “My country didn’t face any Emergency…there is no terrorist attack back to back in succession.” !!??!?

Are we talking about India? Have you forgotten Indira Gandhi and her Emergency? Do you not see the terrorist activities in Kashmir?

But I agree, though we are not perfect, we sure manage to move forward somehow. But at what cost? Economic growth is not affecting a large part of the population. Environmental Pollution is at it’s highest. Bah!

You are right. We need to do something. Lets go kill a minister and take over the AIR station.

  4. @Baphomet….Pakistan just got over from an emergency,i was talking about the recent happenings..Declaring emergency in India was the worst mistake done by Indira…And about terrorist avtivities, yeah its there in large scale but still we are living a peaceful life..say atleast in states other than J&K we can sleep kind of peacefully…Its true that by no way India is perfect but compared to Pakistan we are living a much much safer and stable life…..Its just a comparison b/w we and ‘em

I wish if i could keep all those filthy politicians in a line and shoot them using a M-16..

  5. bro rohan…

u r rt man..am also very happy these days coz of the fact that am living in INDIA..as u said, eventhough ours is nt a perfect nation,in ma perspective ITS THE BEST…Sometimes..BETTER THAN THE BEST…Proud To Be An Indian !!!

  6. ofcrse we r livin in a much better place… bt nt the bst…. its nt only abt terrorism in JK.. bt political riots..sex scandals…child trafficin…its nt lik wat we see arrnd us… nd its nvr gonna chnge..bro..whn u hav dat rifle in ur hand,u ‘ll nt stop shootin…

well.. i nvr knew dat u hd dreamed t join NDA… gud dat u didnt gt tru.. :) (dats a selfish didi..)

  7. @Mridul…..yeah really i am proud to be an Indian

@Miss Mathew…..didi no country is perfect….america may have money…but their problems are worse than our’s sometimes…all these riots..sex scandals..traffickin..and above all Racism…all these are there in america…some leader in America said..”the main problem of america is 15 year old boy with a gun and a 15 year old girl with a baby”..Their condition is no way better than us…the number of school drop-outs in america is increasing drastically…..and i like u being a selfish didi…

  8. yes ,i do feel the same now .but if the situation is not stabilized such situation may arize in our country too..
terrorism is on the rise…hope everything would be fine in the coming days in pakistan too

  9. @Arvind….thats true…and i hope,we will be able to wipe terrorism off from our mother land…from the birth the image an average Indian will be having is “Pakistan is our enemy”…i never felt so…most people in pakistan want peace….

  10. Mridul is a bit hyper about india.. so, dunt mind him..
well, We do have pur own problems and lots n lots of craps who sit in the seat of politicians.
But, I dunno.. maybe because of the ahimsa thing and stuff like that spread by MK Gandhi, we’r a bit more peacefull..
I had me a freid thru orkut. a pakistani, in Karachi. said whn he goes out, he carries a revolver. Dunno for sure. still the situation is really nasty. huh?
Hope this thing is not contagious.
    God bless us all.

  11. @jeevs…damn it,i cant even think about a situtation wen i will have to carry a damn revolver for my bloody protection wenever i go out…….

  12. Were you there when Indira Gandhi was assassinated? or when She carried out a killing carnage in the Holy Sikh temple. Did you have any family that died there or afterwards in the persecution?
It is not good to speak ill, or be thankful that something bad happened to others and not you. It can happen to anyone! anywhere!
My prayer is that : May you show restraint in your happiness during another persons grief.
After all this is a global world.

  13. I apologize for saying what I said, You of course have no idea about death or dying yet. So please forgive my comment.

  14. @asqfish……”My prayer is that : May you show restraint in your happiness during another persons grief.”
i am not a saddist to take pleasure form other person’s grief, may be u didnt get what i meant…yeah its true that i am happy not to be in a current situation which prevails in pakistan now….but it doesnt mean that i am taking pleasure or finding happiness seeing how other’s out there are suffering….

and no need to apologize…u can comment or express ur view openly….

  15. wow…long discussion…i seem to have missed it.

  16. “My country didn’t face any Emergency, there was no military coup, there is no terrorist attack back to back in succession.”

Ahem!! are you talking about India? do u live in some hidden utopic place about rest of India doesn’t know?

  17. @Reema…

so u telling me that we also have all these problems…are we under emergency, did we face any military coup and even if we are having terrorist nuisances are we not sleeping peacefully at night….

by the way iam from Cochin,Kerala…and i guess its not utopic…
